I go home for the holidays tomorrow, which MIGHT mean limited internet access, like last year. Hopefully, due to different living circumstances, the internet might be better, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, just a heads up! 

...Though it almost feels that way! It's almost the end of the school year here, and assessment is killing me. 

What that means is, though, that if I survive, in about three weeks I will be home until January next year. And yes, the annual exile from the internet is upon me once again.

I think it will be a good thing this time, though. I fully plan to use that free time (that I'm not using on the USB onthecount sent me, which I've been saving, hee) translating the novels, because
a) it keeps my Japanese from going rusty,
b) it's a personal goal and
c) I promised.

So! If I'm not a huge flake for once, I plan to get all the novels I own done and dusted. That means all three of the BBS novels, the first Kh2 novel, and possibly the last few stories from Short Stories 2. So please look forward to it!

Of course I might not be able to post them until next year, but... you know me. I can usually weasel a way ;D

Hell, if you're really lucky I might use them to procrastinate from study in the three weeks of exam block that start next week, but I dunno. My brother's getting me Sims 3 Pets...

Just wanted to say, I'm really sorry I haven't been posting novel translations recently.

The truth is, all the things I love to do have been stressing me out, from big things like study for the subjects I love at school to tiny things like getting up to face the day. At times it also included talking to people online who I love, and I'm so sorry for that too.

When things stress me out I tend to avoid them, and then make excuses to pretend I'm not stressed (especially when it's irrational stress in the first place). I've been telling myself I'm not in the mood, or I'm tired because of xyz reason, or because I'm just a lazy person, but the past few days I've thought really hard about it and I've faced up to it, and I feel horrible.

I know what the problem is (it's something I've been trying to deal with since the beginning of the year, but I was going about it backwards: it's not the symptoms that are the problem, but why I'd even have them, after all). And I'm going to try harder to fix it and try to stop being in denial about my real underlying problems, and most importantly, try to start doing the things I love again.

Part of this means I really, really want to keep translating the novels, even if to use to help myself through this funk. I absolutely love doing it, and it's good for my Japanese.

Well, that's the plan. I can't promise I will have anything to post soon, but it will happen. I just wanted to apologise for that and explain, because I know it can be frustrating when online people drop of the face of the earth, especially mid-project like this. 

So yeah, hope you guys are all well, and if you want, wish me luck :3

Just a quick update to say: I'm not dead, and I am planning on doing more novel translations. Life has pretty much steamroller'd me on many different levels, and I just haven't found the time or energy to do it lately. But, I promise that as soon as I find that energy I will work on them again, I haven't given up :3

I also need to extend an apology to the various people I keep in contact with outside of LJ :c I really do love you guys, and I'm sorry that I haven't been replying/commenting/msn'ing/skyping like I want to. As I said, steamroller'd. 

Buuut! In case I didn't mention, the amazingly lovely ucco sent me Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Vol 2: Best Friends for my birthday! :D :D I am halfway through the bios for that book, and I plan to get that up before I keep working on the first BBS novel~ I just hate those freaking bios. For now though, have some info on the book itself:

I found a nice scan of the cover here! The colours are actually a lot softer in real life, though. Aquaaaa~ so cuuute X3 Unlike the boring sparkles on the back of the first book, this one has a weird picture of Lea and Isa, which I have taken a bad webcam shot of (and a closeup of Isa cause he is fabulous) for you, since I sadly don't have a scanner here :C (I sacrificed a boring white box with the barcode and stuff, if you're wondering about the dimensions, lol)

Apart from that, same as the first volume, there are also no extra illustrations by Amano Shiro in this book, just seven full colour bio pages with renders of most of the characters in the game. I already knew it wouldn't cause he said so and apologised about it on his blog in like March, but I was still kind of sad  :c Oh well, poor guy seems to have a lot on his plate. Haha, he also answered a reader question about whether he and Kanemaki are friends; he says just like she wrote in the Afterword, they keep making and having to scrap plans to meet 8D;

I've only listened to this song twice in my life, because it's made me cry both times. Pretty much everything in it strikes a chord with me, and if you are a not-very-religious-but-not-so-cynical person too, then I think you will like it too :3

I've uploaded for you the version he played with the Queensland Pops Orchestra - it's very beautiful.

This is the sex ed video I was shown in primary school in the early 2000s, re-watching it is putting me in stitches...

I own this book all thanks to the amazing ucco ~ ILU~ You can see the cover here.  The back cover is just sparkles, I can take a webcam shot if you want but it's nothing special! As I mentioned in a previous post, there are also no extra illustrations by Amano Shiro in this book; instead, there are 7 Bio pages in full colour with nice renders of every character in the game.

You might have noticed the stars; they aren't in the book, they just use boring old extra spacing to show scene transitions. But I like to think of interesting things (binary in seven days, xxx for xion axel and roxas in days, the <<ЯR>> in reverse/rebirth~) to make it pretty. Just know that it's not in the original.

I also can't be bothered to do translation notes for this right now, but if you have any questions about choices please don't hesitate to ask!!  :D  Comments and suggestions and corrections are also always welcome~ o3o
